For owners, operators and developers

Reviewed before you approve it, not after you've paid it.

Contracts, change orders, pay applications and vendor pricing, examined by someone who spent twenty years approving them from the owner's side of a capital program.

Engagement model

Fixed fee, plus a share of what we document.

A fixed engagement fee covers the discovery, review, analysis and report. A performance fee applies only to savings that are documented and actually realized. No findings, no performance fee.

Performance-based compensation is appropriate on the owner side because your interest and ours point the same direction. It is prohibited entirely on lender engagements, for precisely the same reason.

How we work

From first call to delivered findings.

Everything is scoped, priced and agreed in writing before any work begins. No hourly surprises, no scope creep.

  1. 01Discovery call โ€” 20 to 30 minutes, no chargeAnnual capital spend, active projects, and where you feel exposed. No obligation.
  2. 02Written proposal โ€” within 48 to 72 hoursScope, timeline, fixed fee and payment terms. Nothing is ever quoted verbally.
  3. 03Contract and kickoffSigned engagement letter, kickoff within five business days, and a document request.
  4. 04Analysis โ€” remoteBudget variance, full contract read against the checklist, change order audit and vendor benchmarking.
  5. 05Findings report and debriefWritten findings ranked by dollar exposure, plus a walkthrough call. You decide what to act on.

Scope boundary

Commercial analysis. Not engineering.

Haskins Capital reviews the commercial and contractual side of a capital program. Design review, constructability opinions, budget adequacy opinions requiring a professional engineer's seal, and field observation of work in place are outside the scope of these services. Where an engagement requires a sealed opinion, that work is performed by a licensed professional engineer under subcontract and identified as such.
